mise 2026.10.5 changed the default vendor for a bare `java` version from OpenJDK to Temurin. Our lock records OpenJDK with `shorthand_vendor = "openjdk"`, so with mise 2026.10.5 or later, `mise install --locked` fails with "java@latest is not in the lockfile". This breaks the Pages workflow and the mise enter hook. Run `mise lock --bump java` to lock `java = "latest"` to Temurin. This moves the locked version from OpenJDK 26.0.1 to Temurin 27.0.0+35. Temurin publishes no macOS x64 build of Java 27, and the bump fails while the lock covers that platform. Set `lockfile_platforms` to the platforms the lock already covered, without macos-x64. The other tools keep their existing lock entries. STF-2089 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

mise lockfile_platforms install --locked omitted platform behavior official documentation
💡 Result:
**If the current platform is omitted from `mise.lock`, `mise install --locked` fails** when that tool’s lock entry requires a platform-specific URL or checksum and has no matching entry for the current platform. Locked mode does not resolve a missing entry on the fly. ([mise.jdx.dev](https://mise.jdx.dev/dev-tools/mise-lock.html?utm_source=openai))
`lockfile_platforms` helps prevent that: it applies to automatic locking during `mise install` and `mise use`, and the current platform is always included. If the setting is unset, automatic locking keeps platforms already in the lockfile and adds the current one. ([mise.jdx.dev](https://mise.jdx.dev/configuration/settings.html?utm_source=openai))
To add or refresh a platform explicitly, use `mise lock --platform …`; then install with `--locked`. ([mise.jdx.dev](https://mise.jdx.dev/dev-tools/mise-lock.html?utm_source=openai))
**Caveat:** whether a missing platform entry is required depends on the backend. The docs say some backends lock only a version and do not need a platform URL; inspect the tool’s lock entry and backend support. ([mise.jdx.dev](https://mise.jdx.dev/dev-tools/mise-lock.html?utm_source=openai))

Keep the locked install runnable on macOS x64.
java = "latest" remains unconditional, and the enter hook runs mise install --quiet --locked for every tool. On macOS x64, the Java lock entry is missing. Because Java uses platform-specific URLs and checksums, mise fails in locked mode instead of only skipping Java. This regresses the macOS x64 enter hook; the base lockfile contained a macOS x64 Java entry.
Use a Java vendor/version that provides a macOS x64 artifact, then regenerate the lockfile. Do not omit macos-x64 while the unconditional Java tool remains in the locked install.
