Stacked on #55 (→ #54 → #53). This PR adds one commit; the PRs below it are unchanged.

Completes priority 2 of proposal 0006: tested deletion-recovery and keep-local recipes. They are copyable host code in examples/editor-recipes/ (README, recoveryCopy.ts, keepLocal.ts). They use only the store's existing public methods, add no library API, and are executed by the client suite through stream events (applyStreamEvent), as the connector delivers them.

Deletion recovery copy

retainRecoveryCopy(store, uid, { retainMs }) keeps a detached copy of one fixed UID's draft and unsaved edits. It takes the copy as soon as it starts, and again on every store notification while the object exists. After a deleted event or snapshot pruning, the copy stays available for explicit copy-out; it never tries to read the removed draft.

Acceptance (0006) Test
Initial capture the copy taken when the recipe starts survives an immediate deletion
Edit-time updates; pruning typing just before snapshot pruning, including mid-resync, is kept
Replacement UID opens separately a recreated name has a clean draft; the copy stays bound to the old UID and identity
Null state an object never in the store has nothing to recover; no copy while the object exists
Disposal, retention and expiry copies are detached, expire after retainMs, and dispose() stops listening

Keep-local resolution

keepLocal(store, uid, path) captures the local value (or its absence), calls revert, and reapplies the value in one synchronous call. The result is an ordinary edit against the reviewed server version.

Acceptance (0006) Test
Nested paths; unrelated edits and conflicts preserved; fresh intent the nested value is kept, the other conflict waits, and captureSave binds the reviewed version
Deletion a local deletion stays deleted (null in the patch), and a value the server deleted comes back
Whole-array replacement arrays are kept whole; deciding at a parent resolves the nested conflicts
Policy/redaction refusal status and a path redacted after the conflict return false, changing nothing

Before writing the recipe I checked it against current behavior: revert clears the conflict and the reapplied value is never re-flagged. No helper was added to the library; nothing in the repository repeats this code.

The saving guide, the Vue guide (which said the recipe was pending) and the examples index link the recipes. Proposal 0006 marks priority 2 complete.

Verification

task lint-client and node --test pass: 143/143, including 9 new recipe tests. The examples are typechecked through tsconfig.test.json. CI covers the rest.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added editor recipes for retaining a draft and its edits after an object is removed, and for resolving conflicts in favor of local values.
    • Recovery copies are available only after removal, remain detached from the store, and expire after a configurable period. Local-value restoration is declined when a path is no longer editable.
  • Documentation
    • Updated saving, Vue, and examples guides with links and usage details for the tested recipes, including deletion recovery and conflict handling.

…cipes

Complete priority 2 of proposal 0006 with copyable host code that uses
only the store's public methods, executed by the client suite through
stream events.

- retainRecoveryCopy keeps a detached copy of one fixed UID's draft and
unsaved edits from the moment it starts, refreshed on every store
notification, so work typed just before a deletion or snapshot
pruning can be copied out afterwards. The copy is bound to the
original identity, expires after a host-chosen lifetime, is released
by dispose(), and is never applied or reconciled: a replacement UID
  opens clean.
- keepLocal resolves a conflict in favour of the local value: capture
it (or its absence), revert, and reapply it in one synchronous call,
leaving an ordinary edit against the reviewed version. It covers
nested paths, deletions both ways and whole arrays, refuses a path a
policy or later redaction made read-only without changing anything,
and leaves unrelated edits and conflicts alone.

The saving and Vue guides and the examples index link to the recipes,
and proposal 0006 marks priority 2 complete.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change adds two editor recipes: one retains a removed object’s draft and edits for recovery, and one keeps local values during conflict resolution. Tests exercise both recipes against stream-store events. Example documentation and guides link to the recipes.

Changes

Editor recipes

Layer / File(s) Summary
Retain drafts after removal
examples/editor-recipes/recoveryCopy.ts, packages/krm-stream/test/recipes.test.ts
retainRecoveryCopy tracks a UID’s draft and edits and provides a detached copy after removal until expiry or disposal. Tests cover removal, resync pruning, identity replacement, expiry, and disposal.
Keep local values during conflict resolution
examples/editor-recipes/keepLocal.ts, packages/krm-stream/test/recipes.test.ts, packages/krm-stream/tsconfig.test.json
keepLocal checks whether a path is editable, then reverts it and restores its local value or absence. Tests cover conflicts, deletions, arrays, parent paths, redacted paths, and save intents. The test TypeScript configuration includes the recipe files.
Document recipes and completion
examples/README.md, examples/editor-recipes/README.md, docs/saving.md, docs/vue.md, docs/proposals/0006-stream-and-save-implementation-plan.md
The example README and guides link to the recipes and describe their usage. The proposal marks the related priorities complete and links to the recipes and tests.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Change: Other

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 8c48e

A recovery copy can appear while its object is live again. This is a narrow, fixable lifecycle error; merge with owner awareness or clear the removal state first.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 8c48e

Exposure is limited to optional editor helpers using existing store controls. However, synchronous callbacks can interrupt keep-local resolution, and recovery state is inconsistent when the same UID reappears. Production adoption and authorization context are not established.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · reliability · inferred: Keep-local resolution is synchronous but not transactional. Revert clears conflicts and invokes subscribers before restoration. A callback can observe or save the intermediate state, advance the server version, or throw before the local choice is restored. In hosts with such callbacks, this weakens explicit-review integrity and leaves no rollback for partial resolution. Production reachability is unverified.
  • Low · architecture · observed: After removal or pruning, same-UID reappearance refreshes the retained draft without clearing removedAt. The handle consequently still reports removal and can return a live object's draft using the earlier removal deadline. Subsequent removal also inherits that stale deadline. This breaks the recovery handle's ownership and lifecycle contract; the tested different-UID replacement remains isolated.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The demonstrated exposure is host-local resource data: one recovery handle retains one fixed UID's draft and edits, while keep-local mutates one UID/path through existing store methods. Neither helper directly sends a network request. Exposure across tenants, sessions, or deployed consumers is not established.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A security-relevant integrity path would require a host callback that saves or changes state during revert's notification. Such a callback could act after conflicts are cleared but before the local decision is restored. Direct callback dispatch establishes this composition possibility, not an attacker-controlled production path.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The conditional-save example assigns session and CSRF policy to the host request function and refuses saves while disconnected or while conflicts remain. The store documents gateway enforcement as separate from client editability. These are integration contracts; backend authorization was not independently verified.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Host adoption should explicitly bind recovery handles to the authenticated editing scope and dispose them when that scope ends, including sign-out or access loss. If retention policy requires data release rather than only unavailable copy-out, clear retained state at expiry as well.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Clear removedAt when the UID returns.

capture sets removedAt one time and never resets it. A UID can leave the store and come back. For example, removeResource runs and the stream later sends added with the same UID, or adoptSaved upserts a pruned UID. In that case, capture refreshes last, but removed stays true. copy() then returns a copy while the live object exists. This breaks the documented contract that the copy is null "while it still exists". The original removedAt also starts the expiry clock too early.

Proposed fix
     const draft = store.draft(uid);
+    removedAt = undefined;
     const { apiVersion, kind, metadata } = draft;
