Purpose / problem solved: Shows real-user Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS, plus FCP and TTFB) for a website and every page in its sitemap, from Google's Chrome UX Report (CrUX) API. It pairs with the Google Search Console plugin through a Merge correlation rule, so each page has its search performance and its Core Web Vitals in one place.
Primary audience: Marketing and SEO teams, plus web performance owners.
Authentication method(s): API key (a Google Cloud key with the Chrome UX Report API enabled; the API is free).

🧪 Test plan
Tested against live data on the US tenant with a deployed build and the squaredup CLI:
Setup checks (API key, sitemap, gzipped sitemaps, website data) on a standard sitemap.
Import of a large sitemap (23,821 pages) and of a smaller one (about 1,200 pages).
Core Web Vitals, Core Web Vitals history and Page experience diagnostics scoped to several pages at once, where half had no CrUX data: the pages with data return rows and the others return a "No Chrome UX Report data" message.
Whole-site streams for the website origin.
Dashboards opened against live data sources.
A site that blocks cloud servers needs the data source added via a relay agent, as the README says.
⚠️ Known limitations
CrUX only reports pages with enough Chrome traffic, and values are a 28-day rolling window.
A sitemap that returns an error, such as a 404 for a child sitemap, fails that import; pages from the last successful import are kept. The platform cannot skip a failed request inside an import.
Gzipped sitemaps are skipped. Only the top-level sitemap is checked at setup.
Competitors and Key Pages use phone data, and "who is improving" covers LCP only.
The LCP breakdown covers visits where the largest element is an image.

Systems and components
observed — plugins (service) was modified; 30 changed files map to changed impact.
Before / after behavior
observed — Modified behavior in plugins/ChromeUXReport/v1/configValidation.json: Adds four validation steps: required API-key and sitemap checks, and optional gzipped-sitemap and website-data checks. The sitemap checks set errorOnEmptyResults to true; each step specifies its data stream and user-facing error and success messages.
observed — Modified behavior in plugins/ChromeUXReport/v1/custom_types.json: Adds JSON configuration for the origin, page, and competitor custom types, including each type’s source type, icon, and singular and plural labels.
observed — Modified behavior in plugins/ChromeUXReport/v1/dataStreams/apiKeyCheck.json: Adds the apiKeyCheck data stream configuration, including its Chrome UX Report POST request, fixed origin and metric, API-key argument, response and error paths, and hidden diagnostic metadata.
observed — Modified behavior in plugins/ChromeUXReport/v1/dataStreams/coreWebVitals.json: Adds the stream identity and CrUX API request configuration, including the origin-versus-page target rule, optional non-ALL device filter, five requested metrics, and request and error-handling scripts.

@squaredup/community-moderators GitHub's secret scanning flagged a "Google API Key" on commit 9daf8bf (plugins/ChromeUXReport/v1/ui.json line 10). It's a placeholder (AIzaSy followed by x's), not a real key, and it's already replaced in ad53a09. Could an admin close the alert as a false positive?
coreWebVitals.js and coreWebVitalsHistory.js emit display labels, but the metadata and dashboard queries expect success, warning, and error. Available rows can therefore appear as failed in Overview and Competitors, and as Poor in Page, Diagnostics, and historical Key Pages. Trend charts are unaffected because they do not consume rating.
Update both producers and map the codes back to display labels in the current Key Pages query, which currently exposes rating directly.
Apply this change in both producer scripts. In the embedded Key Pages SQL:
- coalesce(rating, 'unknown') AS state,+ CASE coalesce(rating, 'unknown') WHEN 'success' THEN 'Good' WHEN 'warning' THEN 'Needs improvement' WHEN 'error' THEN 'Poor' ELSE 'unknown' END AS state,

Minor · Use the sitemap streams’ invalid-website fallback for the origin stream. · origin.json:1-18
Use the sitemap streams’ invalid-website fallback for the origin stream.
If website is set to a malformed value such as https://%, the sitemap validation passes when the sitemap lists pages on its own origin. Both sitemap scripts catch the invalid value and fall back to sitemapUrl.
The optional origin validation step does not use that fallback. It passes https://% directly to new URL(...), which throws. The “Check website data” step then fails, and whole-site origin data is unavailable for that configuration.
Make origin.json apply the same invalid-website fallback as sitemapCheck.js and sitemapEntries.js.
