fix(email): send email via SMTP on self-hosted instances - #1895
Conversation
Self-hosted instances suppressed every outgoing letter (plan 15 rev 5), so EMAIL_CONFIG_STRING was silently ignored and invites never arrived — with only a debug-level log line. Self-hosted now composes letters locally (EMAIL_TEXT + nunjucks templates) and sends them through the configured SMTP server. Without SMTP config the send is skipped with a warning; SMTP failures and timeouts are logged at error level. The reminder stays SaaS-only. The invite use case always calls the email service and logs the invitation/confirmation link only when the send fails. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Do not HTML-escape the company name in the plain-text body.
Line 346 adds literal " characters around rawCompanyName. Line 351 then passes that value through escapeHtml. The text part is plain text, so every self-hosted company invitation shows "Acme" instead of "Acme". An & or ' in the company name also appears as an entity. The HTML part receives the unescaped companyName, and the Nunjucks template handles HTML escaping there. Pass the raw value to EMAIL_TEXT.INVITE_IN_COMPANY.EMAIL_TEXT.
