1.2.0 was published to PyPI without ever pushing a v1.2.0 tag (gotcha 103), so every matrix leg failed at checkout with the tag fetch retrying and erroring out. Pin the release/1.2.0 branch tip instead (93b4789), whose tree is byte-identical to the 1.2.0 sdist. 1.1.1's tests/test_changelog.py imports the top-level tools/ package, which CIBW_TEST_SOURCES never staged alongside tests/, so every 1.1.1 leg failed test collection with ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'tools' (the rest of the suite passed). Stage tools/ for 1.1.1 only; 1.2.0 dropped that test and the tools/ package entirely.
