ApprovabilityVerdict: Needs Human Approval Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This PR adds a substantial web/desktop capability for browsing commit-level diffs, routing commit links, and generating AI summaries, backed by new server RPCs, Git processing, provider integrations, and client state. Its cross-cutting production impact and automatic background model work require human review. You can add or adjust custom eligibility rules. Learn more. |

Before / after behavior
- observed — Modified behavior in apps/mobile/src/features/review/reviewModel.test.ts: Added a commit preview source to the test input, with
abc123as its ID and head ref, parentas its base ref, and a commit title. The expected section IDs are unchanged and still list only the working-tree and branch-range git sections. - observed — Modified behavior in docs/user/source-control.md: Adds instructions for reviewing local commits on web and desktop: select Commits in the Diff pane source picker to view up to 100 newest commits in the current branch comparison. Merge commits are compared with their first parent; after the branch changes, selecting a commit again refreshes the view.
- observed — Modified behavior in packages/client-runtime/src/state/review.ts: The returned atom collection adds
branchCommits, configured as an environment RPC query forreviewGetBranchCommitswith a 5-second stale time. - observed — Modified behavior in packages/contracts/src/review.ts:
ReviewDiffPreviewInput.file.sourceKindnow permits"commit"alongside the two existing source kinds.

Explanation
The description includes the change summary, scope links, demo evidence, validation results, limitations, and agent details. However, it omits the required Problem, Change, Scope and approval, and Verification headings, and it states that maintainer approval is still pending rather than providing the required explicit approval evidence.
Resolution
Rewrite the description using the required template headings. Add a concise problem statement, explain the implementation, document focused verification and any unchecked items, and include an explicit maintainer approval comment or explain the approved scope before merging.

Wait for the background request with a Deferred. Use the live clock for repeated steers so their timeouts are registered after asynchronous skill loading.

Feature accepted.
Something I want to go alongside this is that source control links (e.g. 5235a68) should open in the panel with the commit preloaded, similar to how PR links are treated today). Mod+Click still opens the link as is of course
|
Implemented in 65b8808. GitHub commit links now open Diff with the commit selected for the current thread's repository. Mod/Ctrl/middle clicks keep the original URL. Older local HEAD ancestors also load, while the commit menu stays limited to the branch comparison. Verified with 96 focused tests and scoped types, lint, and formatting. The browser click check was blocked by T3 preview timeouts. Main conflicts are resolved; ready for another review. @coderabbitai review |

Review local commits in the Diff pane, including commits opened from links. Select the checked commit again or choose Changes to return to the saved branch comparison.
The selected control shows name → SHA link → arrow. The active thread prepares the first ten summaries before Diff opens, using the configured text model and options. Shared results and pending requests survive panel mounts. Later batches require scrolling; open menus stay stable and failed batches retry on reopening.
Validation: 77 affected tests passed, plus the final 32 summary tests and the existing 100-row limit test. Format, lint, unused-code checks, types, and the production build passed. The combined browser launcher timed out locally; the affected files passed with a longer connection allowance. The live Tailscale client confirmed preparation before Diff mounted, prepared rows on opening, link/menu targets, and deselection.
Cold model generation can still take time. Maintainer approval remains required. Scope: discussion #6924 and Julius's commit-link request.
