Deploying ClusterExtensions using spec.config does not work #2937
However I am seeing an error on deploy. The relevant part of the error:
The request is invalid: patch: Invalid value: "{\"apiVersion\":\"olm.operatorframework.io/v1\",\"kind\":\"ClusterExtension\",......\"type:\"Progressing\"}],\"install\":{\"bundle\":{\"name\":\"argocd-operator.v0.18.0\",\"version\":\"0.18.0\"}}}}": strict decoding error: unknown field "spec.config"
Looking into the CRD, it seems config is not a field.
Looking into the olmv1_manifest that the installer uses specifically for v1.11.0, even that CRD does not have the spec.config field defined.
Closing this issue since it sounds like it would be resolved by running our experimental feature set. But please open a new issue if that doesn't work!

spec.configis an "experimental" feature and has not yet been GA'd. You should be able to install the via the helm template, enabling theDeploymentConfigfeature. Please see https://github.com/operator-framework/operator-controller/blob/main/helm/experimental.yamljoelanford commentedon Oct 20, 2026
You can directly install the experimental release (e.g. for 1.12.0) with https://github.com/operator-framework/operator-controller/releases/download/v1.12.0/install-experimental.sh.
