Charlie Li (@oddwatcher) hi! Try Pre-release version, I've stumbled upon this before and pre-release build resolved it.

#903 has a workaround to fix this problem, But i shall keep this issue open, as the problem still persists when using debugpy over the SSH host

Sorry but we don't keep issues open that are fixed in prerelease. Closing issue
