Python debug command resources not resolved/translated #957

Closed

Description

@brmarkus

Using the following Visual Studio Code under MS-Win11-Pro 25H2, using Python v3.12.10:

Visual Studio Code
Version: 1.109.4 (user setup)
Commit: c3a26841a84f20dfe0850d0a5a9bd01da4f003ea
Date: 2026-02-16T15:35:57.932Z (1 day ago)
Electron: 39.3.0
ElectronBuildId: 13313481
Chromium: 142.0.7444.265
Node.js: 22.21.1
V8: 14.2.231.22-electron.0
OS: Windows_NT x64 10.0.26100

And the Python extensions:

  • Python: 2026.0.0
  • Python debugger: 2025.18.0
  • Python environment: 1.16.0
  • Pylance: 2025.10.4

After updating VisualStudioCode (got notified about a new version, just restarted the application) the resources for debugging the current Python file is not resolved/translated and looks like this:

All other menu and sub-menu entries seem correctly resolved/translated.

What could have caused this?
Could the resources/translations be reset, re-loaded, re-enumerated again?

This is a dupe of #942. This bug has been fixed in the prerelease version of the debugger extension.

With VSCode Version "1.111.0" still the same Python Debugger extension version "2025.18.0".
Is it already known when an offiicial, non pre-release version, will be released?
Is the next official version of the Python Debugger extension already planned?

#942 was created on Jan, 29th.

There is no set date for the next version of the 'stable' release.
