Great, only thing im unsure of is them keeping old firmware files available when new version releases, in case they don't ill host the archive versions myself.
I would still consider this a better option then having every user register accounts.

it's always worth to keep older fw somewhere avalaible.

I had troubles when your ont is on too old firmware, you cant upgrade directlyn to latest because middle-bypass fw is required.

this happened to me with cdata fd511 on fw 1.2.2 when I wanted to move to 3.3.8, it's can't be flashed directly to 338, since you have to flash 1.2.8 before u can go up

same happens with foxgate 2001 when oirignal fw below v6.0.7 and youll try to flash v6.1.2 , ont will die. you have to flash v6.0.8 before going up

it's probably happening due to flash layout differences or bootloader incompability etc. who knows
