Niall saw "Help make Pluck better?" again after updating the app. 1.4.0 stores the answer under a new key (answer, with when it was given), and nothing carried the old consent key over. Before #130 the account held no answer to fall back on, so every phone asked again.

What changes

  • iOS keeps an older answer. loadConsent carries a consent answer from an older build over, dated now, and removes the old key.
  • An account's answer never lapses. freshAnswer drops the year. The answer changes only in Settings or under Cookies on the site. A browser with no account still asks again after a year (ANSWER_LASTS_MS, apps/web/lib/analytics.ts), as cookie guidance suggests.
  • No asking too early. The app waits until it knows the account's answer before it shows the question, so a phone new to the account never asks what the account already said.
  • Privacy now says the iPhone and iPad app asks once, in all ten languages.

Checks: typecheck, lint and unit tests pass (517). The db test now checks that an answer more than a year old still holds.
