the confluence python sdk has decommissioned confluence_client. get_page_id(space_key, title) #1658
The confluence python sdk has decommissioned this function in the latest release. confluence_client.get_page_id(space_key, title) hence our job is failing.
Second, I see that the atlassian-python-api is being rolloed out every day - Who can confirm that when to expect a Stable release?
As we are kind of highly depend on this and our pipelines are breaking as per the new change. Would really appriciate some support on this. Many thanks in advance.
Details - 'confluence_client.get_page_id(space_key, title)' has been decomissioned as per the recent V2 release and I want to know if you could help me with the following
What is the recomended function to get a Page Id ? If we have the title.
As a fallback I am using atlassian-python-api==4.0.4 as a last known stabel version AFAIU. Would love to take your guidence on the Stable release on V2?
Can I get a full list of the decomissioned functions if possible in V2 release ?
We're also experiencing this same issue. We're not on the Cloud offering at the moment and our code snippet is almost the same as @dskdata (it doesn't have the cloud=cloud bit). Our pipeline failed using the latest version (function returned None) but when I used version 4.0.7 it works as expected (function returned the page ID). Thanks for any help you can provide.
There is now more info being returned but the biggest difference is that the info being returned in 4.0.7 is now nested in results and that is possibly why get_page_by_id is no longer returning what we expect. Did you get a similar result?
@catriona-bennett The reason you aren't getting the id in version 5.0.3 because the function signature is incorrect.
def get_page_id(self, space, title, type="page"):
"""
Provide content id from search result by title and space.
:param space: SPACE key
:param title: title
:param type: type of content: Page or Blogpost. Defaults to page
:return:
"""
return (self.get_page_by_title(space, title, type=type) or {}).get("id")
It's treating the response as JSON.
And it returns, None because id is nested inside the results list, not at the root level of the JSON response.
Calling .get("id") directly on the response dictionary looks for "id" alongside "results" and "start", which doesn't exist.
Thanks @dskdata and yes, that's exactly the problem. Thanks for filling in the bit of information I missed! Your suggestion works fine and is what I'll use for now rather than pinning the version but I will continue to follow this issue, as am interested to see what @gonchik comes back with.

Many thanks! This is how I'm trying to get the page id - when I have space name and page title with me.
And I confirm that this is still working on version 4.0.4.

Let's wait for @gonchik to respond! The V2 release looks like a big change and let's see how it goes.
Can you try first try @catriona-bennett
get_page_by_title(space, title)and verify what are you getting?
And share the response if possible?

@dskdata I agree. In the meantime, I did what you suggested and the results are interesting.
Using the latest release (5.0.3) I got this response:
And using release 4.0.7 I got:

I have added a FIX for the server issue : 5fb020c

Thanks @dskdata! I can see that your fix has now been merged but I will need to wait for the next release before I can use it.

I have added the missing methods here #1680 @gonchik awaiting for your review. Hopefully this would solve some of the existing breakpoints.
