- Prevent stale, incomplete or misplaced topology layouts by persisting node positions and zoom in localStorage and rebuilding layouts when saved positions are missing or invalid.
- Keep the topology responsive during connection checks by running checks in the background, with shared timeout handling, typed status messages and incremental status updates.
- Add an integrated zoom slider and Ctrl+wheel support anchored to the viewport center. Complete zoom translations and size the drawing area to the available viewport height.

Run connection checks in the background with shared timeout handling and typed status messages, and validate operation-specific WebSocket fields. Add an integrated zoom slider and Ctrl+wheel support anchored to the viewport center. Complete zoom translations and size the drawing area to the available viewport height.
