These plugins were not pinned before. Maven 4.0-rc then picks 4.0.0 beta version, which break against the RC API (NoSuchMethodError).
With this PR, the tests pass on Maven 4.0.0-rc-7.
Alternative implementation using the Apache parent pom as suggested #2994 (comment)
@jbonofre Using the parent pom is possible, I just needed to overwrite the
<description>, as otherwise the default ASF description text block comes in. Please check which implementation you like better.
