Yes @DaanHoogland , the unmount_operation timing out and causing backup to fail is fixed by that PR. The backup will succeed in those cases after throwing a warning.
So we want that one backported to 22 and this one closed, clear.
This is a maintainer-created housekeeping task (not a user bug report) asking whether PR #13424 (fixing a backup failure caused by unmount timing out) should be backported to the 4.22 branch. It was spun out of a comment on issue #12133. It's currently awaiting a response from the original reporter (@abh1sar) on backport priority.

Not a severity-rated bug; it's a backport decision
This is a maintainer decision (whether/how urgently to backport), not an engineering task requiring code changes beyond a straightforward cherry-pick once approved
Awaiting a reply from @abh1sar on backport priority/importance (asked 2026-07-28, no response yet as of this triage). Once confirmed, backporting PR #13424 to the 4.22 branch should be a routine cherry-pick.
