Browser and Chrome type dependencies currently require manual updates. This adds weekly and manual Renovate runs using the shared addon-stack-dependency-updates GitHub App. Updates are grouped into a deps/update-dependencies branch and a PR into main; merging remains manual.

Dependency commits use deps, trigger patch releases, and appear under 📦 Dependencies in release notes. Ordinary ci commits no longer trigger a version bump. An explicit release parser dependency keeps lockfile-only regeneration compatible with CI installs.

PRs into main now run the full Ubuntu/Windows × Node.js 18/20/22 matrix, strict Renovate configuration validation, and the aggregate CI passed check. Workflow actions and the release runner/npm versions are aligned with the verified Storage setup. Tests and contributor documentation cover the new workflow and release policy.

Validation:

  • Lint, source/public API type checks, build, and all 88 tests passed locally.
  • Dependency-release integration passed on Node.js 18, 20, and 22.
  • actionlint and strict Renovate configuration validation passed.
  • npm 11.18 lockfile regeneration was unchanged; npm 10 installation and the npm 11.7 release installation check passed.
  • Develop CI passed.
  • Full PR CI passed: Ubuntu/Windows × Node.js 18/20/22, strict Renovate validation, and the aggregate CI passed check. All nine jobs succeeded.

The App, organization variable, and shared private-key secret are connected to this repository. Scheduled and manual Renovate runs become available once this setup reaches main.
