serverExport.mjsdiscards all three export results. The test therefore passes when an exporter returns empty output or omits the representative optional blocks without throwing. Assert representative block content in each returned format before printing"exported".🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Handle string root exports before iterating entries.
If a published package declares "exports": "./dist/index.js", Object.entries(pkg.exports) iterates the string's characters. The loader can then skip every character and report success without importing the entry. Normalize a string export to a "." entry before iterating.

Problem
Our tests did not find #3228, #3230, or the package entries that point to files that do not exist. All of these occur only when an app installs the built packages and runs them in Node:
server-utiltests set a fakewindow. In a real Node app, windowdoes not exist (ServerBlockNoteEditor crashes the process after exporting React custom blocks with React's development build #3230).describe.skip) since June.Changes
tests/src/unit/builtPackages/builtPackages.test.ts. It runs after the build, in CI. It has three checks:main, module, typesand allexportsof each published package point to files that exist.nodeprocess, no bundler, no Vitest).ServerBlockNoteEditorexports a document with a React block, a math block, inline math, a diagram block and columns, in plain Node, withNODE_ENV=developmentandproduction. Node runs React's queued work before it exits. If this work stops with an error, the exit code is not 0, and the test fails.server-utiltests do not set a fakewindow. They put__TEST_OPTIONSonglobalThis._withJSDOMcopies it fromglobalThiswhen there is nowindow.tests/src/unit/nextjs/serverUtil.test.ts) is on again:NEXTJS_TEST_MODEis set (devorbuild), because it packs the packages and installs them with npm (network, about 50 s). CI setsNEXTJS_TEST_MODE=buildin its own step, as before. A localvp run testskips it.setup.shnow gives the tarballs fixed names. Because of this, it does not writepackage.jsonagain on each run.AGENTS.md(made bynext dev) is in.gitignore.y-prosemirrorandyjs.server-utilimports@blocknote/core/yjs, so an app must install them. (server-utilcannot declare them as dependencies, because BlockNote supports the Yjs 13 and the Yjs 14 version of y-prosemirror.) Without them, the test fails withCannot find package 'y-prosemirror'. This was the cause of the failure that was hidden bydescribe.skip.Merge order
This PR needs #3238 (#3228), #3237 (#3230) and #3118 (ES modules only). Without them, the new test fails:
style.cssexports of 4 packages and the odt.umd.cjsentry. perf!: publish ESM-only packages without sourcemaps and test artifacts #3118 removes these entries.@blocknote/math-block(@blocknote/math-block cannot be imported in Node because its entry imports KaTeX's CSS #3228).math-blockdoes not load. With all fixes together, all tests pass: the new test (4 of 4), the
server-utiltests (6 of 6), and the Next.js test in development mode (48 s from a clean start) and in build mode. The load check takes 2 to 6 s, so the slow checks have a 60 s timeout. How to test
vp run -r build.tests, runvp test --run src/unit/builtPackages.tests, runNEXTJS_TEST_MODE=build vp test --run src/unit/nextjs/serverUtil.test.ts.Notes
windowagain before React's queued work runs. The new server export check finds it. Point 2 makes the test environment match Node, and it makes the ServerBlockNoteEditor crashes the process after exporting React custom blocks with React's development build #3230 test simpler.publint. It found the same missing files as the "Entries" check, but it changes about 200 lines in the lockfile, and its other message (atypeswarning on all packages) is only about CommonJS.require(). After perf!: publish ESM-only packages without sourcemaps and test artifacts #3118, a check canrequire()each entry on Node 22.12+.next devcatches the error and the process stays alive. The new server export check finds it.core,react,server-utilandmantine. A later step: run the load check against packed packages in a separate directory.packages/core/dist. A partial or old build can make it fail locally. CI always builds first.Summary by CodeRabbit
