Beta: usable setup (combines #139 + #140, fixes 5 dogfood blockers) - #142

Init configures Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and OpenCode together and saves the Node binary plus the package file from the npx cache. map indexes before it prints, --version prints the package version, and a low-confidence search tells the agent a weak result is not proof the code is missing.

Closing this superseded draft because its commit is included in #131's public branch, alongside the publication and source-validity fixes. The installed candidate recorded on #131 exercised the Windows install and five original Express questions: frozen retrieval found an expected file in the top five for 14/21 queries, with Hono peak sampled server RSS of 1.516 GB and an explicit graph limitation. PR131 remains a draft while its final repair is validated; nothing is being claimed merged or released. PR140's extra client targets and HTTP setup remain separate. This branch is being retained. |
Adversarial review (maintainer)Verdict: fix first — do not merge until rebased onto current What I verified: Checked out the branch, What I fixed (pushed Blockers left:
Suggested order: Merge #145 first, rebase #142, rerun full suite + init wizard smoke. |
Review update (post–master merge)Verdict: merge after #145 (was fix-first; now current with Done: Merged Verified: Still: Land #145 first, then merge this PR. npm publish remains out of scope. |
Bring PR #142 up to date with model-free indexing, init preflight, and master CLI entrypoint detection while keeping symlink --version test and search-quality hints.
Draft. Do not merge or publish yet.
initnow does the multi-tool setup from #139 and saves the launch command the way #140 does. It detects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode and writes a config for each one you pick.Fixes:
init, and they note it isn't in npm 2.2.0 yet.mapbuilds the index on a fresh project, so it no longer reports 0 files.--version/-v.codex mcp add codebase-context -- npx -y codebase-context).Tests: type-check passes and 679/679 tests pass.
Still open: re-running the 5 dogfood questions, a Windows install check, memory use on a mid-size repo, and search quality. #139 and #140 are left as they are.
