Summary

Fixes SDKS-5470. DaVinci flows with social login showed Unsupported fields skipped: social-login-google/facebook/apple (SOCIAL_LOGIN_BUTTON) even though the buttons rendered and worked.

Root cause: unsupportedFields diffs server field keys against node.collectors.map { it.id }, but IdpCollector.id (both native SDKs 2.1.0) falls back to the Collector interface default, returning a fresh random UUID per call - it never matches the server key. #67 removed the mapper's SOCIAL_LOGIN_BUTTON exclusion (and the tests pinning it) when it moved serializer ownership to the rn-external-idp plugin, so CI stayed green.

Fix

  • Both mappers (Kotlin + Swift) skip SOCIAL_LOGIN_BUTTON fields when a collector serializes with that type via CoreRuntime.serializeDaVinciCollector - mirroring the existing QR_CODE TODO-SDK-PARITY exclusion, with no compile-time dependency from rn-davinci on the external-idp SDK module
  • CoreRuntime gained resetDaVinciCollectorSerializersForTesting on both platforms so the mapper tests are hermetic
  • Tests at three layers: native mappers (iOS + Android - IdP present excludes, absent still reports), and JS contract in useDaVinciForm (serialized IdP node yields canSubmit: true, no issues, collector visible for DaVinciIdpField)
  • PROTECT verified unaffected: ProtectCollector.id returns the real key on both platforms

Test plan

  • Android Robolectric: rn-davinci + rn-core suites green (56 mapper tests incl. 2 new)
  • iOS XCTest via PingTestRunner: 178 tests, 0 failures (2 new)
  • JS Jest: 251 rn-davinci tests incl. 2 new contract tests; full monorepo 17/17 suites
  • Prettier / lint / typecheck green

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Social login fields are recognized when a matching social login collector is available, rather than being reported as unsupported.
    • Social login fields without a matching collector continue to be reported as unsupported.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Android and iOS mappers now check serialized SOCIAL_LOGIN_BUTTON collectors when classifying form fields. Native tests cover matching and absent collectors. JavaScript tests cover unsupported-field metadata and handled social-login fields.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 3788d

A failed Android mapper test can leave serializer state for later tests. The impact appears limited to test isolation, so the change is mergeable with this cleanup risk noted.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 3788d

The fix addresses a false unsupported-field report, but it can also hide a different social-login field that has no collector. A new test reset can disrupt social-login serialization if native application code calls it during a live flow. No authentication bypass is established.

Retained concerns

  • Low · security · observed: One serialized IdP collector suppresses unsupported-field reporting for all social-login fields on the same node, including fields with no corresponding collector.
  • Low · reliability · inferred: A native caller of the newly public test reset can clear live plugin serializers; on Android, the IdP plugin's one-time registration guard would prevent an ordinary registration call from restoring its serializer.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The field-classification effect is bounded to social-login fields on a mapped node; the reset affects the shared serializer registry for native plugin collectors in that process. No cross-tenant or infrastructure change is evidenced.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A node containing one serialized IdP collector and another social-login field without a collector will omit the latter from unsupportedFields. An authentication bypass or changed submit eligibility is not established; the inspected JavaScript submit builder does not consume that metadata.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The mappers compare server form-field types against collectors serialized by a registered native plugin. For other field types, collector-key matching remains the support check; the social-login exception uses type presence alone.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — The reset requires a native caller and is documented for tests. If called during normal Android operation, clearing the registry and retaining the plugin's registration flag would leave later mappings without its IdP serializer; a production call path was not established.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Correlate each social-login field with a serialized collector identity before suppressing its unsupported-field entry, rather than using a node-wide type check.
  • proposed — Keep the serializer reset unavailable to production callers or provide a restoration path that also resets plugin registration state.

Keep this as JS contract coverage, not native mapper coverage.

FormHarness calls useDaVinciForm, which passes node and handledCollectorTypes to buildNextInput. buildNextInput evaluates collectors and handled types, but does not read unsupportedFields. Adding SOCIAL_LOGIN_BUTTON to unsupportedFields would not test the native regression or change this JS result.

Rename the test and comment to describe the JS behavior. Keep the mapper assertion in native coverage.

Finding correction

Reset the serializer registry in a finally block.

CoreRuntime stores serializers in a process-wide list. An assertion failure skips the current reset and leaves this callback registered. The callback returns null for every collector except the test-local instance, so the current subsequent mapper tests do not receive incorrect serialization. Later mappings can still invoke the stale callback.

Use finally for test-local cleanup. Do not use @After, because a class-wide reset could clear serializers registered by other setup code.

Match each social-login field with its serialized collector key.

hasRegisteredIdp is node-wide and checks only type. If key A has a serialized SOCIAL_LOGIN_BUTTON collector, a separate field with key B also passes the exclusion and is omitted from unsupportedFields. This hides an unsupported field from JavaScript consumers.

Build the serialized key set and apply the exclusion only when the current field key is present. Apply the same correction to Android and iOS. Keep the serializer lookup so the fix does not depend on the random native IdpCollector.id() value.

@tsdamas, the check confirms that a node can contain multiple IdP collectors. It does not show that the native SDK can instantiate one social-login collector while dropping another social-login field in normal operation.

Both serializers emit collector.idpId as the collector’s key. The current tests make that key equal to the form field’s key, but they do not establish that equality for every server response. I would not apply my proposed key-set change without checking that contract.

The node-wide exclusion can hide a field if a node contains one serialized social-login collector and a different social-login field without a collector. That case remains unverified, so I would keep this finding open rather than treat it as a confirmed normal-operation bug.

Keeping the node-wide check, consistent with the existing QR_CODE exclusion in the same function. The serializer emits key = idpId, which is read from the same server field JSON, so a serialized collector and a collector-less field for different keys isn't a shape the SDK produces in normal operation. If the native SDK ever instantiates collectors selectively, a per-key set match would be the right refinement.

Seems like the humans are having a chat. I'll hop back into my burrow for now. If you need me again, just tag @coderabbitai in a new comment, and I'll come hopping out!

Great work on catching that, LGTM. Left minor unblocking comments.
