NETRazorCodeFirst

An ASP.NET Core Razor Pages project built with .NET 8 and Entity Framework Core 8 using a code-first data model and SQL Server.

The repository is kept as a portfolio reference for my .NET development work, including Razor Pages, CRUD workflows, Entity Framework migrations and relational data access.

Tech Stack

  • .NET 8
  • ASP.NET Core Razor Pages
  • Entity Framework Core 8
  • SQL Server
  • EF Core migrations
  • Bootstrap / standard Razor Pages frontend assets

Project Structure

The application includes dedicated areas for:

  • Models — application data models.
  • Data — database context and data-access configuration.
  • Migrations — Entity Framework Core migration history.
  • Pages — Razor Pages UI and CRUD workflows.
  • wwwroot — static frontend assets.

Getting Started

Requirements

  • .NET 8 SDK
  • SQL Server or a compatible SQL Server development environment
  • A valid local connection string in the application configuration

Run the project

git clone https://github.com/EngelReyes23/NETRazorCodeFirst.git
cd NETRazorCodeFirst/NETRazorCodeFirst
dotnet restore
dotnet run

If the local database has not been created yet, review the configured connection string and apply the Entity Framework migrations before running the application.

Project Status

This is a portfolio / learning project rather than an actively maintained production application. Review configuration, dependencies and database settings before adapting it for another environment.
