Closing in favour of #12450 (merged into feature/split-pages). Both render /map identically to the base in headless Chromium against the production API, and both keep the ForceGraph2D paint callbacks verbatim. #12450 stays within app/src/pages and app/src/sections/map and reduces MapPage.tsx to 265 lines; this variant also edited app/src/hooks/useForceGraphSimulation.ts and its test, which the task kept out of scope.

Understood. Acknowledging that this work is now obsolete and stopping work on this task.
